My name is Mark and this summer I am moving to Portland, OR for the summer on a Student Work and Travel Visa. It's my own little adventure. I have set up this blog to keep track of how the plans are going and hopefully get some feedback on everything Oregon - perhaps even meet some Oregonians or land myself a job (hint, hint) for the summer!
So, why Portland? Well, I have some family friends from there who are great folk, and they have offered to put me up. However, In have to say that since I have decided to head to Portland, I have being looking up alot about the city and it looks fantastic. People seem to slag it off, due to it's not-so-amazing weather. However, Ireland has rubbish weather too. Portland seems to be a great city; good beer, nice people and even boasting it's own soccer team - the mighty Portland Timbers. I look forward to following the Timbers doe the summer.
Heck, I'm just looking forward to the summer full-stop!
In this blog, I hope to express why. And I hope any readers can give me even more reason to be dying to get to PDX!
